TEC DEEP
This course combines the performance requirements of Tec 40 Tec 45 and Tec 50 and gives you the combined benefits of all three levels. Taught in a fluid 8 day schedule, if you sign up for the full program we will provide you with the required 12 training dives and give you three additional tec dives free of charge. Remember this level not only opens up new dives sites but allows you to progress to other overhead environment and mixed gas programs.
Ready to explore the technical diving field, in this course you will complete 12 training dives including the use of twin manifold tanks, back-plate and harness and wing system with stage tanks, 8 practical applications, 6 knowledge development sessions and 2 exams.
After successful completion of the DSAT Tec Deep Diver course you'll be able to conduct gas-switch extended no-decompression dives, decompression dives and accelerated decompression dives using air and enriched air to a depth of 50 metres/165 feet. You'll also understand the hazards and risks involved in technical diving, as well as how to prepare for and handle reasonable foreseeable technical diving emergencies.
The Course Covers: (but is not limited to) Technical risks and responsibilities, technical equipment rigging, gas planning, team diving, technical pre-dive checks, specific tech diving hand signals, gas shut down drills, gas switching, long hose gas sharing, lift bag deployment, removal and replacement of deco cylinders, equipment and gas failure procedures, handling technical diver emergencies and rescue drills, oxygen management, decompression computer software, executing decompression stops and dives.
Prerequisites
- Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- Be a PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- Be a PADI Deep Diver (or hold aqualifying certification from another organization)
- Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which at least
- 20 must be enriched air dives
- 25 dives must be deeper than 18 metres/60 feet
- 15 dives must be deeper than 30 metres/100 feet
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a medical form signed by your physician

The Ban's Tec Deep Instructor Training program is the perfect choice for those wanting to join the ranks of PADI technical instructors. Team up with experienced instructors for a well rounded experience and learn the tricks of the technical diver trade. The PADI Tec Deep Instructor course incorporates instructional philosophies and course goals that directly address the demanding and challenging nature of technical diving instruction. The Tec Deep Instructor course prepares candidates to conduct the Tec Deep Diver course and addresses the philosophy, organization, practical considerations, promotion and other aspects of teaching the Tec Deep Diver course.

As a Tec Deep Instructor, you'll be qualified to:
- Conduct the Discover Tec experience
- Teach the Tec 40 course
- Teach the Tec 45 course
- Teach the Tec 50 course
Prerequisites before applying to PADI:
- PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)
- PADI Enriched Air Instructor
- PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor
- Certified as a Tec 50 or Tec Deep Diver or equivalent
- Assist at least two Tec 50 courses or completed Ban's Tec Deep Instructor Internship
- Have a minimum of 270 logged dives, of which at least
- 25 Dives must be stage decompression dives deeper then 40 metres
- Have certified a total of ten or more Deep and/or Nitrox specialties (any combination)
- Meet peer review water skill requirements

I came to dive with Ban's Diving Resort after a friend recommended it to me. I came to Koh Tao and wanted to get some Specialty Instructor ratings so I could get my MSDT certification. I was also interested in doing some technical diving courses.
