TEC 40

If you're interested in technical diving, but haven't yet met the prerequisites for the PADI Tec 50/Tec Deep Diver course or PADI Tec 45 course, your first step is enrolling in the PADI Tec 40 course. It is the first subdivision of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver course and consists of the first four dives. The PADI Tec Deep program is built upon three new courses: Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50. This new course break down allows the technical decompression diving program to be diver friendly, letting the student built their experience gradually. Each level of certification in the Tec Deep program allows the successful candidate to gain experience and still enjoy the benefits of decompression.
The Tec 40 course is the perfect entry point into the technical field of technical diving and provides a smooth transition from recreational diving. Upon completion the successful candidate will be qualified to complete up to 10 minutes of non-accelerated decompression while breathing from one additional deco cylinder of up to EANx50. Remember since it's part of the course, this experience will be credited toward your Tec 45, Tec 50 and or full Tec Deep.
Prerequisites
- Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization)
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization)
- Be a PADI Deep Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization)
- Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least
- 10 dives must be on enriched air
- 12 dives must be deeper than 18 metres/60 feet
- 6 dives must be deeper than 30 metres/100 feet
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a medical form signed by your physician

Came to Bans with an open water certificate and left with an amazing collection of diving experiences. The ones that out gunned the rest were the Technical and Cavern dive course, not mention the fun dives in those disciplines. Nothing quite like dropping through zero visibility into a whole different world and seeing the opening to a cavern with huge stalactites crowning the entrance, or doing a technical dive where you get the opportunity push back the limits of recreational diving. All in all I arrived at Ban's with a very limited knowledge of diving and left feeling confident and wanting more! This was due to the great set up at the resort but primarily due the fantastic instructors they have .
